What is Doon Threads?

Hand-printed shirts, kurtas and boxers, made in Jaipur. For men who are quietly bored of navy (and women who already knew it). There’s more out there. This is it.

Traditional Jaipur block print is our speciality, but we dabble with other ways of making our threads unique.

Our threads have soul. We reckon it’ll rub off on you, you sexy beast 😉.

Characterful

Many of our garments are hand-block printed, meaning every pattern is pressed one steady hand at a time. Others are screen printed; a manual process that allows for bolder, more layered designs. And in our ikat pieces, the pattern is woven into the fabric itself, the yarns dyed before they ever touch the loom, giving that beautiful haze at the edges. No two pieces are identical. That’s not a flaw. That’s the evidence that a human actually touched this.

Breathable

We prioritise natural, high-quality fibres. From the airy, porous nature of our hand-spun linen or khadi (that gets softer with every wash — yes, it really is true!) to the crisp, cool drape of our long-staple cottons, our fabrics are built to move with you, keeping you cool in the heat and layered in the cold. Every fibre chosen for feel, not paperwork.

Traceable

We want you to know exactly where your threads came from. We’re proud to work with the hands of India’s skilled craftsmen, so when we say, “Made in India”, that’s the truth. Indian, from soil to shoulder.

Quality Over Certificates

We’ll be honest: a green “organic” label doesn’t always mean a better shirt. In the world of textiles, paperwork can be hollow. Which is why, when it comes to fabrics, we chase yarn quality, not certificates. We rely on the decades of experience our Jaipur partners have in their fingertips. If the fabric doesn’t have the right weight, the right tension, and the right soul, it doesn’t get the Doon label, no matter what the certificate says.

The Finishing Touches

  • Packaging: Back to the Soil

    It wouldn’t make much sense to spend months sourcing natural, earth-friendly fabrics only to wrap them in plastic. That’s why our packaging is just like our clothes: plant-based and compostable. From the mailers to the tags, everything we use is designed to return to the earth without leaving a footprint. When you’re done with the box, you can literally compost it. It’s the final step in our “Soil to Shoulder” journey.

  • Modelling: Real People (and a bit of Maths)

    At Doon Threads, we don’t really do “supermodels.” Most of the time, it’s just us and our mates wearing the gear in the places we hang out. That said, we’re a small team with big ideas. Occasionally, you might see us using AI-generated imagery to help showcase a new design or a specific “Mini Doon” concept before it’s even left the loom. It helps us stay lean and creative, but the faces you’ll see most will always be the ones behind the brand (and the occasional “Uncle Stink-pants”).

  • Doon x AI: The Human Balance

    We use AI to help us with the unglamorous bits like admin, logistics, and a bit of creative thinking when we’re stuck. Human hands make the clothes. Every print, cut, and stitch is the work of someone in Jaipur who has spent years getting it right. To us, that seems like the right balance.
