What is Doon Threads?
At Doon Threads - we’re fans of the "slow road." And a colourful one at that!
While the bright lights of Mumbai and the tech hubs of Bangalore are racing toward the future, Doon Threads is looking towards the village. Why? Because that’s where the best stories—and the best fabrics—are still made.
About 65% of India still lives in its villages (yes, that’s roughly 915 million people), tucked away from the industrial grind. These are the hands that keep the "India" in India. We work with these local weavers to bring their beautiful hand-spun fabrics to our block-print and stitching facilities in Jaipur where every pattern is pressed by hand before being stitched and shipped direct to the UK. No middlemen, just skilled weavers, printers and tailors working together to create quality threads.
We don’t do mass-produced; we do real hand-made, from soil to shoulder.
The Doon Feel
There’s "life" to a garment that a machine can’t mimic.
Perfectly Imperfect
Every piece has those tiny, beautiful irregularities that tell you a human being actually touched it—from the weave of the thread to the strike of the block.
Characterful
Many of our garments are hand-block printed, meaning every pattern is pressed by a person, one steady hand at a time. No two shirts are identical; they’re individual works of art you can actually wear. What’s not to love!?!
Breathable
Hand-spun yarn has a natural, airy feel. It’s built to keep you warm in winter and cool in the summer and gets softer every time you wash it. It sounds too good to be true – but nature really is that amazing!
The Link
We like knowing exactly where our threads come from. It’s about keeping things simple, honest, and grounded.
